The question always pops up when you are out of petrol and the fuel warning goes off: What distance can the vehicle make?

To answer this question, Car Throttle website made an experiment on Honda Accord. The goal of the experiment was to drive 50 miles (80 km). But it turned out that the car was able to cut 99 miles (158 km) after the fuel warning sign went off.

But each car is different, as there are many elements which will affect the distance the car can make with a nearly empty tank. Some of the most important elements are: the gear type, engine size and type, air conditioning, the condition of the wheels, the windows open or closed, and many other factors.
